Daily Summary for 3/15/2024

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day safely parked near/at the receiver in Chesapeake, Virginia.  Status bar changed to “Delivery completed. Run empty back Saturday morning,” to Cowpens, South Carolina.

Title: Rainy Day

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 11:04 EDT at the QT in Gaffney, South Carolina.  A wet, rainy start to our day, starting our trip to pick up the trailer at Cowpens, SC to deliver to Chesapeake, Virginia.  Trailer was ready early, was scheduled to pick up at 18:00 EDT.  Back on I-85 south to shipper

Leaving the shipper at 12:16 EDT, BRS said, “ok, on our way to delivery, drop as soon as we get there”, back onto I-85 north.

To avoid a projected slow down, BRS exits I-85 at 12:46 EDT onto the alternate route of US 29. “Maybe this is going to end up being slower. Oh well, its a four mile detour.  Look at the old castle on the left, wonder what that used to be?”  The alternate route ended up working out well.

BRS said “Welcome to North Carolina” at 12:49 EDT near Grover.

BRS had story time at 13:05 EDT about a documentary that he had recently seen about the first RV back in 1910 near Gastonia, NC.

Welcome to Charlotte, NC at 13:28 EDT, BRS continued on I-85, we are going through uptown.

Love’s stop at 15:33 EDT near Mebane, NC, topped off all of our tanks.  In a rare occurrence, BRS gives a total of fuel cost at $601.15.

A weigh/mass station, we get a green light bypass at 16:09 EDT.

Near Suffolk, NC at 19:27 EDT the broadcast ends and as we are close to being at receiver a new stream is not restarted as he would continue into the receiver to drop the trailer, then spend the night there if there was onsite parking.

Numbers:  0 miles 0 km to receiver.  We covered approximately 393 miles 628 km rolling out of South Carolina, through North Carolina into Virginia.  We are 176 gallons to Gold for April Love’s status.

Clocks: hours on 11 hr,  hours on 14 hr,  70 hours on 70 hr when we started the day.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning. We will complete the return trip tomorrow to drop the empty trailer back at the shipper.

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.   Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.
