Daily Summary for 2/28/2025

White Plains, SC to Manassas, VA to Thornburg, VA

Big Rig Travels Thursday evening began at 10:59 pm EST.  It was 55 degrees and dark as Steve leaves the Love’s near White Plains, SC.  “All right, so, its an overnight run, not looking forward to it.  I’ve seen some trucks flying stupidly fast past in the truck stop.  All right, you ready to go?  All systems are go in the truck.”  We are continuing our trip to Manassas, VA.  We have 467 miles to go.  Back onto I-85.

Road construction slow down at 12:07 am, single lane traffic.  It is now Friday 2/28.  

“All right, welcome to North Carolina” at 12:20 am.

Rest area stop near Thomasville, NC at 1:56 am. 

“Welcome to Greensboro, next three exits” at 2:26 am.  “Ahh, truck just rolled over 244,000” at 2:35 am.

Love’s stop near Reidsville, NC at 2:54 am for coffee.  

“OK welcome to Danville, Virginia” at 3:23 am on US-29.

“Alright, welcome to Lynchburg” at 4:44 am.

Steve rolls into a weigh-mass station parking area near Madison Heights, VA to complete the mandatory 30 minute break at 4:49 am and to review all the silly messages we had been getting.  

We are moving again at 5:21 am, Steve notes we have 147 miles to go.

Arrival to check in to receiver at 8:16 am.  Steve notes “you all need a little bigger spot”  Into a dock door at 9:01 am for the live unload.  Recording stops at 9:05 am. 

Recording resumes at 10:58 am.  It is 48 degrees and partly cloudy.  Delivery is complete.

We enter Sheetz truck stop near Thornburg, VA.  Steve advises “yeah plenty of parking, tons of parking here.  This could be home for the night” at 12:27 pm.  With a fuel island view, the clock is stopped at 12:28 pm.  “Ok, that’s it.  5 mins of time left.”  Recording ends at 12:35 pm.
