Daily Summary for 2/12/2025

Portage, IN to Belvidere, IL

Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 6:42 am, it is 24 and overcast at the I-90 service plaza in Portage, IN.  We are continuing our trip to the receiver in North Aurora, IL. 

We were trying to get to HQ before winter storm Harlow.

Welcome to Illinois at 7:03 am near Lansing.

Recording ends as we arrive at the receiver to check in and complete the drop of our trailer at 8:05 am.

New recording resumes at 8:34 am CST, 24 and mostly cloudy, we are Bobtail Bob, leaving the receiver and heading to HQ for time off.

Snow finds us near St Charles, IL at 8:50 am.

Love’s stop near Hampshire, IL at 9:27 am.  

Steve notes that he spotted three snow plows at 10:01 am as we near headquarters.  “Its starting to look ugly out here.  I think we timed it just right.” Recording ends at 10:05 am.

Prior to end of recording, Steve advised he had an appointment for the Blue Comet on 2/18 in Gary, IN at 9:00 am shop service for A and B and Calbit, new ELD equipment and fix our bunk heater.
