Daily Summary for 1/23/2025

500+ mile day

Big Rig Travels day began at 9:04 am EST, it was 3 degrees and sunny at the Love’s near Cumberland, Maryland.  We are continuing our trip to Portland, TN.

BRS rolls onto I-68.  Steve states it is named the national freeway.

Downtown Cumberland at 9:11 am.  

At 9:18 am, BRS “its been many years since we have been on 68.  Good to be back out here again.”

“Meadow Mountain, elevation 2,780 ft.” near Grantsville, MD at 9:34 am.

“Ok, welcome to West Virginia” near Hazelton at 9:56 am.

Weigh mass station open at 10:13 am, no issues. Stopped and parked to check messages.

“Welcome to Jane Lew (West Virginia) we haven’t been here in many many years” at 11:19 am.

Stop at the Pilot for coffee near Sutlon, WV at 11:57 am.

Charleston, WV at 1:18 pm, we roll onto I-64.

“All right, welcome to Kentucky” near Catlettsburg at 2:15 pm.

Love’s at Grayson, KY at 2:39 pm, stopped for fuel and hot dogs, then parks to complete his 30 minute break while overlooking the lot we had parked in during Thanksgiving a few years back.

Resumes driving at 3:10 pm.

“We are about to get on the Martha Lane Collins Bluegrass Parkway Versailles” at 4:52 pm as we neared Lexington, KY.  Steve discusses wondering why they would have so many names.

Steve rolled onto I-65 near Elizabethtown, KY at 6:10 pm.

Steve advises “entering central time zone” at 6:27 became 5:27 pm near Munfordville, KY.

Exits off of I-65 into a rest area near Horse Cave, KY.  Finds parking, stops the clock at 5:42 pm.  

“Done for the day.”

Numbers:  65 miles to receiver, will do that in the morning, we have a 9 am appointment.  We covered 524 miles rolling out of Maryland, through West Virginia and most of Kentucky. 217 to Platinum.

Clocks: 2:09 hours on 11 hr,  3:06 hours on 14 hr,  5:15 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 8:19 hours tomorrow morning. 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.
