Boo!

Boo! Paddleboat ride is over! It was a fantastic ride! Great staff. Very friendly. Lots of space to relax and enjoy the 8mph ride on the river. The second day went lots faster than the first it seems. If you ever get the chance to do the Spirit of Peoria, it would be money and time well spent! Taking today off while the shop changes the oil….maybe I will even squeeze in a dentist visit…. More about the boat trip… We arrived in Peoria about 9 pm and spent the night at the Mark Twain Hotel. Very nice hotel just three blocks from the boat docks. Excellent room at a decent price. Monday morning had breakfast at the hotel then hiked to the boat about 8am. We checked in and they took our luggage and put on a van. I just took my camera bag on the boat. There was about 95 people on board and three decks to explore. We left the docks and started the ride about 9am and they served a small breakfast. There was story telling and singing all throughout both days but I just stayed on the second deck out of the sun yet plenty of fresh river air blowing. Perfect weather indeed, not hot or cold! Lunch was a build your own sandwich…then later was cheese and crackers. Then dinner was prime rib! We landed at Started Rock Park and a trolley car took us to our hotel room in the park and our luggage was already waiting for us in the room. Then the second day we left luggage in the room and they picked it up and took it to Peoria for us to pick up at the end. The Captain and crew were top notch. There is not one single thing I would change…except it be longer! Ha! They also offer numerous other boat trips to different places ranging in length from a few hours to five days! Perhaps if I get more time and money I will go on the five day tour from Peoria to St Louis to Hannibal! image image image
