Beautiful scenery…

… if you are patient.  Our next trip is now posted and it is only the second time we have gone this route on US highway 97 through some of the most beautiful places in Oregon! As far as I can remember,  we have passed through there just twice in 12 years! When I first started trucking and we rolled through here, we were not even Broadcasting to the website yet. I was just in awe of the mountains and valleys,  the wide open prairies and flowers I’d never seen before.  Lakes, streams,  waterfalls.  It felt like I was a Million Miles from anywhere.  As we do this trip this time, we are equipped with more cameras than last time we visited these areas. I will try to stop and visit where I can, but be forewarned,  the most scenic and far away places have nothing but dialup. Life is slower in these areas and they don’t need all the hype of fast internet.  Obviously,  we will broadcast what we can, hard record what we can, and when possible,  be sure to peek in to the snowman camera since he can push out a new image even on slow dial up. Here are a few galleries from the first trip…

  3. woo-hoo! Hope we have enough space for 1080p hard recordings:) maybe the trip of the year;) i know the part from Biggs Junction to the nord (there are hard recordings in brt archive), the Oregon part is absolutely new for me. I’m looking forward😃. On this trip no “mash it” – just slow down, easy rider:)) weather forecast looks sunny:) Safe travels Steve, enjoy all the beauty. God bless!

  4. Bummer ~ can’t access the links to photography here at work 🙁
Will have to try again later on my phone or home PC.
Looking forward to all the scenery as it’s available!
    Thank you 🙂

  5. OK – tried a different browser (Chrome) and was able to view ’em.
WOW ~ absolutely loved the US Highway 97 gallery. Spectacular scenery just like you said.
i was actually bothered by the “Shoe Tree” pics. it’s upsetting to know people can just trash
an otherwise picturesque setting but that’s my opinion.
Looking forward to the ride 🙂

  6. Wow, can’t wait for the trip to start. Love this part of traveling with you Steve and the road crew. Be safe out there. Are we there yet . Lol

  7. New viewer here, and I am really looking forwards to this trip. Hopefully I won’t be asleep for most of it(I’m in UK). It is an area I would have loved to have visited, so will be great to watch it go by.

  8. Forgot to say in my rush to post, but thank you for taking all the extra time etc. to take us all along with you. Who knew I would enjoy ‘sitting’ in the cab of a big truck for hours on end, watching America pass by, and all from the comfort of my own comfy chair.

  9. Yes, yes, I remember this trip & gallery!
I’ve always loved the early galleries best.
When Steve discovered “America the Beautiful” one mile at a time.
When your page used to open to the haunting strains of music. . .

    O beautiful for spacious skies,
    For amber waves of grain,
    For purple mountain majesties
    Above the fruited plain!
    America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea!

    O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
    Whose stern, impassioned stress
    A thoroughfare for freedom beat
    Across the wilderness!
    America! America!
    God mend thine every flaw,
    Confirm thy soul in self-control,
    Thy liberty in law!

    O beautiful for heroes proved
    In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
    And mercy more than life!
    America! America!
    May God thy gold refine,
    Till all success be nobleness,
    And every gain divine!

    O beautiful for patriot dream
    That sees beyond the years
    Thine alabaster cities gleam
    Undimmed by human tears!
    America! America!
God shed His grace on thee (please again, O Lord)
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea!
