Interesting day today
Big Rig Steve officially done at 21:36 CDT safely parked TA near Gary, Indiana. Paid for reserved parking $18.00, comes with a free bottle of water. Woo Hoo… BRS “Check out time is by 3:00pm. You pay for parking you should get 24 hours. You got to be kidding me, it’s like a hotel” here. BRS “I am too tired to play closing theme, you can hum it to yourself, how about that! Alright see you all in the morning, good night everybody.”
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 7:00 EDT near Indianapolis, Indiana at Flying Hook. Sun was rising in our mirrors as we started the day. We were continuing our trip Bobtail Bob to shipper in Joliet, Illinois. BRS advised that we had worked on improving the website after arrival here yesterday. “Yes I know, no trip map & data is wonky. Not sure what it is. Could be a coding update issue.” Unfortunately, the developer is no longer available to help with this. “If it don’t work we will not have it.” Steve has added his twitter “X” posts to home page populating with his last three most recent posts. This way, if you do not have access you can still read them on the BRT website and this is easiest quickest way for BRS to keep everyone updated on his status. Please comment here for BRS to know that you like that edition to website.
BRS 7:10 EDT “By the way we still do not have a trailer, nobody will tell me where to find a trailer.” This becomes defining issue with eating up our clocks today.
BRS reviews the company speed issue and said “You got to be kidding me”. “Even though everyone thinks that I’m the slowest creature out on the road, We need to watch our speed, and tighten up a little bit of our driving.”
7:23 EDT Storytime BRS said “I have a little story to tell you.” Well, maybe later as Steve changed the subject to Tractor Supply and began a live commercial for said retailer as that in previous time Steve had spent a lot of $$ at a different TS locations.
Stopped at Love’s near Whitestown, IN for fuel for the Blue Comet at 7:38 EDT ended up parking with fuel Island in view to submit request for fuel and here is where we get the story from the earlier tease. Worth a play back if you missed this on the broadcast.
We stop again near DeMotte, IN at Loves 8:55 EDT for coffee stop and to re tape the broadcast phone that had been issue in recent days of showing a view the of the sky. Yes several minutes of searching and reorganizing the rear of the cab (lots of noise back there in the search) to find our Alien Tape and accomplish the re taping to the lower edge of BC windshield.
BRS is informed that there is not a trailer in Gary as previously instructed, so we instead need to return an hour back in the wrong direction to Indianapolis again to get a trailer. Yes, you need to watch the broadcast to discover how that goes.
Fast forward, we arrived at the shipper in Joliet at 16:52 CDT and the day does not improve, as we end up waiting 1-1/2 + hours just to check in for loading as, yep with earlier in the day issues to get a trailer, we are late for our appointment. Finally at 18:15 we are checked in and assigned a dock door to wait for our live load.
BRS noted that we are going to run out of hours on our 14 hour clock and will need to find first available safe parking in Chicago Area “How’s that work?” once we are loaded as they no longer offer on site parking here.
In a door at the dock finally at 18:21 BRS has to sort out payment for $172.53 late for appointment fee.
20:38 CDT Status changes to On time to Delivery, now on PC as 14 hour had expired, we headed out of shipper into the darkness to find safe parking.
I-80 at 21:14 BRS” Welcome Back to Indiana” where back in the state we spent most of our day in today.
Numbers: We covered 444 miles 714 km in legal and 37 miles 59 Km in Personal Conveyance including rolling back and forth in Indiana and into and back out of Illinois including trailer hunt and live load at shipper.
Clocks: 1:58 hours on 11 hr, 0 hours on 14 hr, 40:06 hours on 70 hr. Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow. BRS advise earliest we can drive is 8:30 EDT but would not be surprised if we sleep at least until 9:00 EDT as delivery is a drop and we have advised that we will not arrive until
around 16:00 EDT. Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.

Where are you getting the time stamps at? Not on my phone.
I love Woo Hoo.
Have a can every morning.
I like seeing the X.
Time stamps are on video. All you need to do is look at the upper right corner. It helps when something interesting happens like Steve tells a story or we are caught up in a massive thunderstorm.
I see the problem. They used to appear sliced off on my TV. I could guess the city by seeing cut off letters.
Now they’re totally gone.
The only thing I have now is I 80 with half the 8 cut off.
I can’t change my screen sizes to a smaller picture to catch everything.
And it worked before. The size of graphics must have changed.
I see it’s on my phone now. But it’s too tiny to be practical. Especially the time. If I stare long enough with my bifocals I can barely make it out. Which is sufficient I guess.
I did see the graphics on my phone just now. Thought I had already looked before.
Really appreciate Steve adding X to the web page.
Thanks Ric-Rac for acknowledging my activity on responses to summary !!! Yes i was on a roll there some time in the past !! But as old age has been creeping in more and more i have slacked off in recent days!! Just always want to let it be known appreciate your summewries!! Keep them up!! Now am ready for next–Mash It !!
