Big Rig Steve “Stopped the Clock” at 14:50 CST safely parked after arrival at the Flying Hook after starting the day at 3:30 EST this morning in Indiana for his 5:00 EST delivery appointment. Today was another long day for BRS.
Today’s trip title is Friday Early Morning Headache.
Welcome to Freaky Friday BRT broadcast started 6:49 EST after the one hour and 15 minute unloading of the delivery was completed at the receiver in Gas City. Steve started the stream parked at the Loves in Marion, IN where he’d driven to after completing the delivery. Yes, fresh Coffee was secured and on BRS walk back to the Blue Comet Cascadia he spied a Cat Scale / fuel island view parking spot that he nicely moved us to upon his return. Pre-trip watch party started while BRS was waiting for the next trip, a preloaded trailer ready for pickup at scheduled 12:00 EST. Steve switched the microphone to stealth mode (mute) so that he could take care of other business such as paperwork & cleaning out the trailer. BRS also planned to try to take a siesta to try to get rid of the terrible headache that occurred after getting up so early. Yep, that resting thing did not happen.
BRS called the shipper at 9:07 EST (as it seemed like the chat was interfering with the resting idea, pushing for BRS to drive even though it was just short trip to shipper). Surprisingly, he learned from the early call that the trailer was ready to go. So BRS pulled up to the fuel island and topped off the trailer refer fuel tank., grabbed fresh coffee and then off to the shipper. Unfortunately, the headache continued on as resting was sacrificed by the trailer being ready to go.
As we traveled to the shipper 9:30 EST, BRS had a question or discussion on the four seasons (no, not the music group). BRS requested the poll master (apparently John 259 has another nick name) to post a poll. I missed the results on the YT chat. I do know that where Rac and I reside, the seasons have big changes as compared to some, like say BRT RC member Chris in Florida where it is much harder to determine changes in the seasons. Arrived at the shipper 10:08 EST, camera turned to British mode for the drop and hook. Serval BRT RC members posted in the YT chat that they really enjoy experiencing all the work that happens in the process at the shipper even learning that BRS has paper work to process in his Blue Comet office chair.
Back out of the shipper at 10:48 EST, a smooth drop and hook at went well. On time to delivery was posted to the status bar and away we rolled.
Next stop was the Loves in Pendleton, IN for Cat Scale, tractor and trailer fuel and yes, fresh coffee. As we pulled in, BRS spied a Cheetos truck at 11:00 EST. After fueling (479 gallons to Loves Platinum status), Steve grabbed lunch with the coffee. As we left, BRS informed us that he had met the Cheetos driver in the store and inquired if he would be interested in helping Aunt J with a complimentary bag. Driver said no and that he did know of the famous AJ was not going to be responsible for contributing to making a frog over mass/weight. BRS noted as we rolled out, we are heavy even though Cat Scale had informed him we were legal beagles. Woo hoo !
We rolled through greater Indianapolis IN 12:00 EST where we worked our way onto I-70 for the continued trek west. In what seemed like a short while, at 12:25 CST, we crossed into IL. Yes, we were back in BRT HQ home state again, however, we were nowhere near HQ. Yes, we found snow flurries dancing off our windshield.
Marshall Illinois 12:28 CST, we did a drive through the mass/weigh station as we did not receive a pre-pass green light & tone, so in we went thru the faster lane and right back out with no issues. (Possibly they were just observing to make sure we had our IFTA stickers). Yes, Steve you were correct the green open sign was illuminated like you thought.
Numbers for today: 18 miles 28km to go to receiver. BRS plans to leave between 6:00- 6:30 CST and will broadcast the short trip to the receiver for the 7:00 CST delivery appointment. Covered 329 miles 529 km today as we went to receiver and then shipper for drop and hook then out of Indiana across Illinois. Clocks: 3:54 on the 11 hour, 4:07 on the 14 hour, 33:43 on the 70 hour. Eight day running total 1,805 miles 2,904 km . Next trip is preloaded already, so BRS will proceed to shipper right after delivery tomorrow and we will be rolling all weekend as next trip is a three days travel. Three bags of Oreos acquired today for those keeping track. Luckily, BRS headache was gone at the end of the day (woo hoo!) yes, left along the route somewhere. Nap time was coming soon, no watch party. The website 24/7 live snowman camera will be turned on to watch out the Blue Comet window for the night.
