First trip!

The first trip ever for this truck is now posted! It sure is a nice long run to break the truck in! The move out of the retired Kenworth is completed. Now that we have everything in the new truck, I will have to find a place for everything. I like this truck so far. It has all the gadgets I enjoyed in the last cascadia we had and a few more. But…in the short drives to the shop, etc…my foot kept trying to press in the clutch which has now disappeared and my hand keeps trying to grab the gear tree which also seems to have gone missing! Love the extra room, tons of storage, and plenty of power plugs! This truck has the Detroit DT12 in it. As I learn more, I will let you know and if not then simply ask! No photos tonight because I am drained of all energy and just wanna sleep now. 🙂  our trip starts Wednesday just before lunch or so….

We now have the keys to our new truck! It has that great new truck smell! This thing is so tech advanced with lane departure sensors, cameras, 1000 watt inverter, and it has an auto-manual transmission! I had to take a class on how to operate all the new and different controls in it. One last thing we need to do is run it through the shop to get fuel, put spare tire on it, stick on all the prepass and toll boxes…then we can move in! I already put us on the board for a trip leaving tomorrow morning…

What is the new truck you ask? It is a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution with 15 miles on it! A few photos will come tonight for ya…but in the meantime, you can Google the name to see the exterior. White in color. As I move in and get going, I will tell you more about it. Right now, lunchtime then lets head to the shop!

Pack up

Good morning from Utah! Well y’all need to gather up your sleeping bags, rocking chairs, wheel chairs, lawn chairs, food lockers and everything else from the truck. We are moving into a brand new truck this afternoon. Right now our truck is being finalized to be available. This means they are installing the Qualcomm, slapping the decals and stickers on, and making sure the permit book has everything it needs to be legal.

Right now I am doing my own packing such as taking the CB radio out, checking door pockets and glove box, and filling grocery bags with stuff from the cabinets to get ready to throw into the new truck.

As soon as I get the keys to the truck, we will begin the big transfer of belongings andi will let y’all know what our new home will be…
