110?

Egads, gonna be 110f here today in Phoenix says the weather app! Crank up the air conditioning! Many thanks for all the birthday wishes. Between emails, Facebook, Twitter, etc, there are so so many birthday wishes to me. that if I happen to miss saying thanks to you personally, please don’t take it personally and just know that I appreciate each one.

We are waiting for our next trip. I’ve already turned one down but the planners are working on something else for us. As soon as I get word back, I’ll let ya know.

    1. I apologize Steve, I was under the impression that yesterday was your birthday. Hope today is a great one. Cheers

  1. Thanks for the update! Curious as to the factors you consider when deciding to accept/not accept a trip. Thanks for sharing your travels and hope to see you in the PNW soon. Stay safe and healthy.

    1. It is a case by case basis. Depends on the customer and my experience with them, mileage, time, location. In the case of this morning, a 9 mile trip to a destination that has taken 12+ hours to unload in our past combined with their Google ratings from other truckers of 1.4 stars and the most common complaints dealt with painfully long unloading. Since we get paid by the mile, 9 miles and the very long wait times, nope, not worth it in my book. I’d rather sit and wait for another trip.

      1. I surely don’t blame you for not taking that 9 miler but we all know SOMEONE has to do it. How will they determine the unlucky driver who will have to do this?! I assume your seniority helps y’all here?
        Happy birthday!

      2. Thanks for the reply and insight. Much appreciated. And Happy B-Day! Hope you are enjoying the AZ heat. At least, it’s a dry heat! 🙂

  2. TJElevatorFan you have a wonderful smile! Love it.

    “I Saw The Light”

I wandered so aimless life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear saviour in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I’m so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I’m so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

I was a fool to wander and a-stray
Straight is the gate and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I’m so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.

  13. Happy belated Birthday.

Glad to be able to travel American roads with you. I always wanted to come to America and drive American roads, perhaps an answer to prayer that I found you and am able to do so vicariously through you.

  14. Steve a belated Happy Birthday To You. Sorry did not wish you Happy Birthday in previous chats but got all wrapped up in responding to Archie Bunkers relation that just forgot===Happy Birthday!!!

  15. Steve would not turn down a trip unless there is a good reason…..and traveling only 9 miles to a location with a reputation for bad service to truckers is a perfectly good reason, especially if the driver is not getting paid for the time spent waiting while the warehouse lollygags and takes its sweet old time loading or unloading.

  16. I forgot to tell ya I made you a birthday cookie. But then, I forgot & ate it.
50xs I wrote: bad cat, I am a bad cat. Signed “bad cat”
I forgot to use paper, I wrote it on the kitchen door with a crayon. oops.
Your birthday has been a trial for me. Are you having one again next year? I will rest up for it.
