Fog, Rain and Detours

Big Rig Travels day began at 7:36 am, it was 42 degrees, cloudy and damp.  He was at the I-70 truck parking area near Kansas City, Kansas.  We are continuing our trip to Antioch, TN.  “The rain has stopped, so let’s go.”

Steve points out downtown Kansas City at 7:47 am as the skyline came into view, welcome to Missouri.

Stop at the Love’s near Bates City, MO at 8:23 am.  Steve created a live Love’s commercial message at 8:38 am as we roll back out onto I-70.

Downtown St Louis at 12:15 pm, Steve has to take the detour due to the bridge crossing the Mississippi River was closed.  We end up on the Dr. Martin Luther King bridge at 12:16 pm.  Steve notes that it has been a long time since we’d been on this bridge.  Crossing the Mississippi River, “alright, welcome to Illinois” at 12:17 pm.

Another detour at 1:16 pm near Richview, IL were we are forced onto US 51 south.  This ends up eating a lot of Steve’s clock due to heavy, slow moving traffic.

Fuel stop and 30 minute break started at the Love’s near Ina, IL at 3:05 pm.

I-57 weigh mass station, no bypass at 4:16 pm near Marion, IL.  No issues.

“Alright, crossing the Ohio River, welcome to Kentucky” at 4:57 pm near Paducah.

Big Rig Steve officially done at 5:42 pm, it is 47 degrees, dark and rainy at a Pilot in Kuttawa, KY.
