A day in Illinois

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 6:22 am CDT near Bolingbrook, Illinois.  It was 53, cloudy and dreary.  Headed to the receiver.

Broadcast ends at 7:14 am as we arrive at the receiver in Oswego, IL.  Steve advised the next trip loads in Champaign, IL and is scheduled to be a preload, but reports that never works at that particular place.  Delivery will be in London, KY which is a drop anytime tomorrow (Tuesday).  

Broadcast resumed at 9:21 am, leaving the receiver.  Another trip safely completed.  He advised that they did a good job unloading the trailer and left it clean.

Heading to the next shipper.

Stopped for coffee at 9:57 am at the Speedway.  

Arrival at the shipper near Champaign, IL.  Broadcast ends at 12:34 pm.
Broadcast resumes at 4:43 pm, status changed to “on time to delivery”. Steve posted via X that the load was a preload, but they had loaded the wrong companies trailer which resulted in a significant delay.  

Stopped at the Love’s near Oakwood, IL at 5:21 pm for fuel for the Blue Comet and coffee for the driver.  Apparently we are heavy so limited in the amount of fuel we can add at any one time.

We left Love’s drove across the interstate to the Pilot, took a quick poll, then turned around and headed to the Love’s again to park for the night.  There was a front row seat to the fuel island at 5:46 pm.  Steve was concerned about finding a spot to park for the night if he drove further.  A watch party starts.  

Numbers:  365 miles to receiver.  This trip delivers anytime tomorrow.  We covered 209 miles rolling within Illinois.

Clocks: 5:25 hours on 11 hr,  5:20 hours on 14 hr,  15:24 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 6:22 hours tomorrow morning.
