Big Rig Travels broadcast day began 8:04 EDT after BRS was requested to move from overnight hiding spot. Parked near Allentown, PA to get morning coffee. Day began with sunny clear skies 48 deg F, 9 deg C.
Steve explained that the yahoos took 4 hrs 15 minutes to unload last night.
9:45 EDT squeeze into the trailer washout, no wait whoo hoo! “Definitely a tight place up here , definitely need to know how to use your mirrors.”
9:58 EDT Big road I-78 west for ten minutes and then BRS said “we are going off into the boonies”.
10:19 EDT 9% grade downhill 548’ to 377’ elevation in one minute. BRS said he had only done this once prior to today.
10:24 EDT BRS gave Mark Verstappen a thank you and shout out for all the new road shields signs. Even had today’s backroads completed.
10:27 EDT fun discussions about bears worth listening to play back to hear BRS solution. Make sure you aren’t one of the unruly RC.
10:50 EDT on the skinny streets BRS found Loves stop near Tamaqua, PA “awesome sauce this is so cool.” Definitely need to watch this back to hear the excitement of our BRT tour guide.
11:03 EDT leaving PA 309 rolling on to I-81
11:15 EDT camera flipped to British mode for the drop and hook of the preloaded trailer.
12:00 EDT BRT RC Vicky meet up with at the 7-11, yes, the whole family and even the family dog entertained Steve. Received onions, juice, creamer, Cheetos then BRS grabbed coffee headed back out on the road. Yes, must watch play back to see the enjoyment of the RC meet up.
12:30 EDT BRS advised that “gotta look at your mirrors to avoid a lot of problems”, as he squeezed out from the 7-11.
12:42 EDT back on local 309 taking same route back south on the 9% grade in reverse direction.
Back on big road I-78 near Hamburg, PA 13:30 EDT
13:38 EDT BRS briefed us of summary of a good day then stopped at Loves ❤️ for 63 gallons of fuel which puts us at 45 gallons from gold status for May.
14:25 EDT advised that next trip going through downtown Philadelphia, PA
14:41 EDT on to the PA turnpike I-476 near Allentown, PA
16:05 EDT over the bridge crossing the Delaware River and down to the Welcome to New Jersey sign greeted us on US 332
16:12 EDT nearly to our destination for the live unload 5 am tomorrow morning. Yep need that dreaded alarm ⏰ clock again.
Numbers: we are parked at the receiver, covered the advertised 176 miles 281 km rolling around eastern Pennsylvania into New Jersey.
Clocks were not addressed so all we have is started the day with 46:12 hours on the 70 hr, no hours gained back until next Tuesday morning. Started the day at 328′ and ended the day at sea level.
