BRT Groundhog Day
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 3:18 am EDT at the Love’s near Burbank, Ohio. 56 degrees and dark. Fueled up the Blue Comet with 60 gallons and continued our trip to Cleveland, OH.
Arrived at the shipper at 4:28 am. BRS goes to check in and finds out the bad news that the trip has been cancelled. We will have to wait for further instructions which could be as late as 5:00 am PDT. BRS starts a watch party while he waits at the shipper. Microphone muted so Steve could take a nap.
BRS advised us at 9:26 am that he had gotten a good nap, “not sure what you’ve been doing,” referring to the road crew. We are still waiting on the bosses to decide what we are doing. We finally get a directive at 10:26 am, we are leaving Cleveland to deadhead back to the Columbus yard to pick up a preloaded trailer.
We stop at the Love’s near Bellview, OH at 11:50 am. Broadcast ends as we near the Columbus terminal to pick up our next trip. We need to do a split here until we can head back out again.
Broadcast resumes at 5:19 pm still near Columbus. We are running on a split clock, starting our trip to Hinkley, OH.
We arrive at the Love’s near Burbank, OH at 7:10 pm. Yes, the same Love’s we started from this morning! It is BRT groundhog day. We are fueling all tanks and Steve switches to the night time camera.
Arrived at the shipper near Hinkley, OH at 7:58 pm. Broadcast ends, Steve will park on site to wait for our 11:00 pm appointment time.
We have another trip for tomorrow.
Numbers: Not discussed. We are 323 gallons from Gold status for December.
