Big Rig Travels broadcast day began 10:37 EDT at the Pilot near Bentleyville, PA with clear skies sunshine 49 deg F 9.5 deg C, 265 miles 426 km to delivery. Back on to the big road again eastbound I-70 as our tour guide continues rolling us thru the Independence State.
11:05 EDT near Smithton, PA, BRS describes the dream or possibly the nightmare that he had awakened to during the night. Yes, it’s suggested listening to the playback. Would not believe it if you read it here. You can’t make that up.
12:05 EDT law enforcement motorcycle patrol person was spotted watching the construction area of I-70 near Berlin, PA.
Short time later 12:08 EDT BRS notes tunnel ahead at 2,215 elevation. Yes, long stretch of tunnel.
12:46 EDT near Breezewood, PA rolled on to I-76. Signal much better here than on I-76 back in eastern Colorado.
13:12 EDT near Shade Gap, PA another tunnel at 945’ elevation.
13:24 EDT, yes, another long tunnel near Spring Run, PA at 974’ elevation .
13:50 EDT BRS points out the flee market on the right side of BC yes Jim/Janet BRS breaks in to a tune.
We then exit off I-76 near Carlisle, PA 13:53 EDT to enter toll booth … BRS read the signs “keep moving, keep moving, keep moving” then thru truck stop row on US 11 while Steve plays audio, Wally “Cheers” as we work towards I-81.
Mark V has the US 11 road shield ️ populated for us. BRS breaks out another ad lib tune as we roll onto I-81.
14:12 EDT crossed Susquehanna River near Harrisburg, PA.
14:35 EDT exit onto I-78 east near Jonestown, PA.
14:57 EDT stopped at Loves near Hamburg, PA into brilliant traffic stoppage by big rigs driving up in the wrong lane past the line of traffic entering the truck stop. BRS spies an orange kitty cat in a HMD big rig. Also worth a playback of the stream to hear Steve’s reaction to the stop. Yep TK the truck Cat is recalled.
We do have our next trip, will find out details tomorrow morning.
Numbers : covered the advertised 256 miles 426 km across Pennsylvania. Clocks we started the day with 53:20 hours on the 70 hr. Did not discuss hours remaining as delivery would use up more time of the clocks. Assuming 5:36 hours were used to get to delivery. Eight day running totals 881 miles 1,431 km
