Big Rig Travels day began at 5:47 am CDT. It is 57 degrees and foggy at the Love’s in Monroe Center, IL. After getting to spend the night at the house, BRS is up early to get back to the truck to finish the trip to Elkhorn, WI. “Where is my nighttime glasses?” Zelda began advising and repeating “Follow the road for 3 miles” as we needed to take the detour.

On I-43 near Delavan, WI at 7:07 am, Steve discusses the upcoming free Christmas card that he will be sending off to the printers.
Arrival at the receiver, near Elkhorn, WI at 7:14 am for a work-in live unload. At 8:31 am, our trip is complete. We now start our deadhead trip to the next shipper near Appleton, WI.
Stop at the Love’s near Elkhorn, WI for coffee at 8:35 am.
Blue Comet horn honk at 9:30 am near West Allis, WI on I-41 in reaction to a big rig passing us who was laying on his horn. “We have a horn too.”
A slow down at 9:34 am near Wauwatosa, WI on I-41.
Stop at 10:35 am at the Sparkle wash near North Fond-du-Lac, WI for a trailer washout. We end up completing our 30 minute break, and then some while waiting in line. “Are we almost there?” at 12:39 pm as we were still waiting in line for the washout. Washout finally completed and back onto I-41 at 1:04 pm.
After arrival at the shipper, it is learned that they did not have a trailer available to pre-load, so we have to wait for our trailer to reach temperature in order to allow us to check in to complete a live load. Stream is ended.
Broadcast resumes at 5:44 pm, leaving the shipper near Little Chute, WI.
Love’s stop near Fond-du-Lac at 6:41 pm for a weigh mass check at the CAT scale. We were 67,600 pounds. “Legal all the way around.”
Big Rig Steve officially done at 6:46 pm. “This has been a disastrous couple of days.” Start over tomorrow.
Numbers: 175 miles to drop at the yard for another driver. We covered 243 miles plus two customers and a long wait at the truck wash rolling out of Illinois and then within Wisconsin.
Clocks: 2:43 hours on 11 hr, 2:42 hours on 14 hr, 3:18 hours on 70 hr. Gain back 9:30 hours tomorrow morning. Plan is to go to Gary in the morning, drop, then try to grab a good empty trailer, if there is none, will Bobtail Bob back to Belvidere, IL for time off.
