Daily Summary for 5/12/2025

West Memphis, AR to Meadowview, VA

Big Rig Travels Monday began at 7:52 am at the Love’s in West Memphis, AR.  It is 64 degrees and overcast.  There are two recordings today 6hr30min and 3hr30 min.  “Let’s go!”  We are continuing our trip to Bethlehem, PA.  Onto I-40 at 7:59 am. 
Crossing the Mississippi River at 8:03 am. “Alright, welcome to Tennessee” near Memphis.

Enter weigh mass station.  No bypass at 8:55 am near Wilkinson Corner, TN.  “Ohooo” Big rig in front of us gets a walk around, visual inspection.  Luckily for us we are told to continue through.  No issues.  As we roll back on I-40 “I guess they’re starting their big safety blitz early.”

Love’s stop at 10:11 am near Holladay, TN for coffee.  A bit of a wait in fuel island line. 

At 10:27 am “woo hoo, coffee, coffee, coffee, lights on.”
“Let’s go” Back on to I-40.

Nashville downtown at 11:49 am CDT.

Welcome to Eastern TIme Zone near Rockwood, TN, its now 2:53 pm.

Recording ends near Lenoir City, TN at the Love’s, with BRS parking in the lot for our mandatory 30 minute break at 3:17 pm. 

New recording starts again at 3:50 pm, still at the Love’s, just finishing his half-hour break.  It is 67 and partly cloudy.  “Make sure you fasten down anything that is spoilable.  Half hr is verified done.” Back onto I-40 east.  He talks about spotted lantern fly inspections. 

Traffic slowdown around the Knoxville area, TN at 4:04 pm.  A little later, BRS advised that the backup of all four lanes due to an Airstream on shoulder and drivers gawking. 

Rainy weather starts again around 4:30 pm.

Another slowdown around Sevierville and Dandridge, TN around 5:00 pm, with flashing lights going by, car has rolled over in center median.

BRS now onto I-81 at 5:29 pm near White PIne, TN, still raining. 

“Time to put on nighttime glasses” at 5:47 pm “that way its not so dark.”

“Welcome to Virginia whoop whoop!” at 6:40 pm near Bristol, VA “Oh…welcome to Virginia NOW” at 6:42 pm.

Exit off I-81 “Alright, let’s hope that there’s parking here” at the Love’s near Meadowview, VA at 7:12 pm.  “That’s it”  “OK so 491 to go, drop anytime tomorrow.” “International road check starts tomorrow, although I think TN started today.”  Also spotted lantern check every 8 hours.

Numbers:  491 miles to receiver.  We covered 535 miles rolling out of Arkansas, the long way through Tennessee and into Virginia.

Clocks: 1:32 hours on 11 hr,  3:21 hours on 14 hr, 11:34 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 9:12 hours tomorrow morning.
