Nashville, TN to Rockmart, GA
Big Rig Travels Sunday began at 8:18 am CST. It was 31 degrees and sunshine at the Love’s in Nashville, TN. Coffee was acquired. “All right, we ready to go?” We are continuing our trip to Rockmart, GA.
“Huge icicles!” were spotted by Steve on the rocky edges along the road near Mounteagle, TN at 9:54 am.
I-24 and a mandatory brake check at 9:58 am. “All trucks must exit, whoop whoop.” We spot a JR Schugel truck from New Ulm, MN flying past. “Hopefully we don’t see JR Schugel at the bottom.” Max speed restriction for the 6% downhill grade ahead.
Welcome to Georgia at 10:30 am near Trenton.
Back into Tennessee and Eastern Time Zone near Chattenooga at 11:35 am.
“All right, welcome back into Georgia.” at 11:51 am near East Ridge, now on I-75.
We stop at the rest area at 12:20 pm near Resaca, GA to check messages.
A little white car runs a stop sign as we are leaving the rest area heading back onto I-75.
Love’s stop near Adairsville, GA for fuel and coffee at 12:41 pm.
Stop at the Racetrac near Emerson, GA. Searched for parking, “thought there would be parking.” None available.
Arrived at our destination, a dirt lot with large potholes next door to a BP station near Rockmart, GA at 2:27 pm.
Recording ends at 2:33 pm. Delivery is tomorrow (Monday) morning at 8:30 pm.
Numbers: 1 miles to receiver. We covered approximately 225 miles rolling in Tennessee and Georgia.
Clocks: no clocks
It is later learned that Steve had a tractor drive tire that had come unseated from the rim and needed to get it repaired before he could make delivery which entailed a 9 hour on duty wait. He then needed to complete his 10 hour break before he could make delivery.
