Daily Summary for 11/13/2024
The Big Push
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 9:24 am EST in Washington, Indiana. It was 46 and cloudy. We were leaving the shipper and starting our trip to the receiver near Forest Park, Georgia. Delivery time rescheduled for 9:00 pm due to shipper delays.
I-69 at 9:02 am, welcome back to Central Time Zone near Petersburg, IN.
Welcome to Kentucky at 9:44 am near Henderson after crossing the Ohio River.
We exit off I-69 to the Love’s near Hanson, KY for coffee at 10:22 am.
Welcome to Tennessee at 11:35 am near Clarksville on I-24.
BRS completes the mandatory break stop near Mounteagle, TN at 1:58 pm. We are at an approximate elevation of 1900 feet above sea level where we will soon be dropping over 1200 feet.
We dipped into Georgia and the Eastern Time Zone at 3:29 pm near Trenton, then back into TN at 3:33 pm as we neared Chattenooga and back into GA on I-75 at 3:54 pm near Ringgold.
Near Tunnel Hill, GA at 4:05 pm the Blue Comet is called into the weigh-mass station, no bypass today. Steve’s weight actually checked and was the first time he was called in, within Georgia, in the last 10 years. No issues.
BRS points out that on the opposite side (northbound) on I-75 at 4:10 pm a truck that was on fire that had stopped with fire spots along the ditch behind it for some ways.
Slow travel during the rush hour around Atlanta.
Broadcast ends as we near arrival to the receiver near Forest Park, GA at 7:23 pm. Steve was hopeful the delivery would not take all night.
Numbers: 0 miles to receiver. We covered 460 miles rolling out of Indiana, through Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
Clocks: Steve was still on the clock when broadcast ended.
