Headed to Mississippi

Big Rig Steve officially done at 18:03 CDT safely parked near Jackson, Mississippi at the Love’s.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began 6:54 EDT near Atlanta, GA at the Petro.  Fuel for the refer, trailer and fresh coffee for Steve.  Continuing our trip to the shipper near Kennesaw, GA.  

Dropped our trailer at the shipper at 8:18 EDT.  BRS points out a tree growing through the frame of a big truck at 8:22 EDT “think he has been here a little while?”  Image was posted to X/Twitter.  

Status changed to on time to delivery at 8:36 EDT.  Started our trip to the receiver near Brookhaven, Mississippi.  

“Brand new adventure for you, we have never done old hwy 41 before,” BRS noted at 8:46 EDT. 

Drove through heavy rain at 11:52 EDT near Fosters, Alabama.

Welcome to Mississippi at 13:49 EDT near Lavderdale and then into the mass weigh station as we didn’t get a bypass signal or any signal.  BRS questioned whether our batteries are bad.  Rolled through with no issues.

Near Lake, MS at the Love’s 13:49 CDT for a 30 minute break.  BRS did get free hotdogs, but no onions.

Stopped at Love’s near Flowood, MS for fuel at 15:16 CDT.

Arrived at receiver near Brookhaven, MS for the drop at 16:29 CDT and picked up our third trailer for the day at 16:52 CDT.  BRS noted the delivery was complete for this trip. Now headed towards next shipper. 

Numbers:  195 miles to shipper which is a live load at 23:00 CDT the next evening.  We covered 531 miles rolling through 3 states and with 3 trailers.

Clocks: 0:20 hours on 11 hr,  1:24 hours on 14 hr,  27:28 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.

  1. Sadly, it turned out that the shipper had an appointment for us on 7/17, not 7/18. Therefore, we were a no-show, and the planners are forced to reschedule. It really isn’t his fault because both the current one to San Antonio and the previous one were tight in terms of time.
