Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 17:38 CST safely parked at Grosse Tete, Louisiana. Parking was found as darkness had set in. Fuel island view with a short watch party.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 9:14 CST at the Loves in Evergreen, Alabama. Started with overcast sky and leaves with fall colors were still visible as BRS went in for fresh coffee.
Zelda invites us onto US 84 west to follow the highway at 9:42 CST.
Rolling on elevated I-65 through a wetlands area at 10:44 CST near Axis, AL. We then crossed the high bridge over Little Lizard Creek.
We exited off the big road for a BRT surprise field trip into Mobile, AL.
Arrived at 11:16 CST at the Alabama Battleship Memorial Park and Museum. Found parking for the Blue Comet, $30 included the tour. Well worth the price of admission. During the tour BRS tells about his time in the service. It was an hour plus long tour.
BRS gave us a downtown view of Mobile at 13:12 CST just prior to the Blue Comet going under the water of Mobile Bay through the George Wallace tunnel on I-10 west.
Welcome to Mississippi at 13:40 CST at Moss Point, MS.
We stopped at the Loves near Gulfport, MS for fueling of the Blue Comet at 14:27 CST.
We experienced some wet weather on the bridge near Slidell, LA at 15:21 CST.
I-12 at 16:14 CST received the red light for the Mass/Weigh station near Hammond, LA. No issues.
Rolling through Baton Rouge, LA with Friday afternoon traffic, experienced some slow downs, a kind driver helped the Blue Comet move over a lane for the second time in the mess.
Crossed the high bridge over the Mississippi River at 17:03 CST into Port Allen, LA.
We exited off to stop at the Love’s at 17:09 CST. Crossing the traffic turned into an adventure and no parking was found, so back onto I-10 west.
Numbers: 248 miles 399 km to receiver. We covered 314 miles 505 km rolling out of Alabama, through Mississippi and into Louisiana, including a field trip stop.
Clocks: 4:57 hours on 11 hr, 5:10 hours on 14 hr, 26:08 hours on 70 hr. 225 gallons away from Gold status for January. We are 425 miles from the TWO MILLION mile mark. Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
