Big Rig Steve arrived safely for delivery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 22:45 EDT for the 1:00 am EDT delivery appointment.
Update delivery completed 1:15 EDT early Monday morning. Steve completed paperwork and BRS advised that he may broadcast later in the day walking down to the beach. Long day for Steve.
Title: Frustration (as Shipper would not rework the load).
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began 10:12 EDT at Loves ❤️near Jacksonville, FL. A late start due to the to the preloaded trailer at the shipper was not ready for pickup. Coffee is first then to the shipper.
Last day of April and we are short 268 gallons of making Loves Platinum status. Not happening, no free showers in May.
BRS advised he experienced rain showers yesterday afternoon after the broadcast day was completed.
10:50 EDT BRS found a new trailer washout business to patronize. Yes, Steve likes to help out the little ones when possible. This operation had only recently opened up 40 days prior. It went from vacant land to operating in short time with big plans for the future. BRS gave out BRS medallion and literature.
11:40 EDT exit of I-10 onto I-95 northbound to the shipper. Arrived ten minutes later at shipper, flipped camera to British stealth mode as we approached. Oh no, issues with the loaded trailer again, so this resulted in a change to a live load of our current trailer. BRS signed off as no idea how long loading would take and Steve didn’t care to have 500-600 plus road crew staring at him during the wait.
Broadcast resumed after leaving the shipper, next priority was a certified Cat scale which was found at the Loves. BRS tried to move tandems and even the fifth wheel position to try to make us legal. To no avail, we went back to the shipper to rework the load.
To Steve’s frustration, the shipper would not agree to rework the load. BRS went back to the Loves to contact the bosses about resolving the issue.
Steve ended up working more on the settings to get the load down to only lbs over on the tandems. Crossing our fingers, the broadcast resumed at 16:40 EDT on I-95 northbound.
We were called into the first mass/weigh station and some how we were sent on our way. “Woohoo” Steve said, “I was sweating bullets”.
We continued into Georgia and we were ok at that station as well.
South Carolina weigh station was closed.
We stopped at 20:17 EDT near Summerton, SC at the rest area to switch from sunglasses to nighttime glasses as darkness was approaching.
Numbers: 390 miles 623 km covering today out of Florida thru a sliver of southeastern Georgia and in to South Carolina. We started the day with 16:14 hours on the 70 hr gain back 6:15 hours tomorrow morning.
Steve advised that Monday morning he may have a surprise for us at Myrtle Beach ️ SC.
Another good day for Big Rig Travels even though frustrating.
