The day started at 7:48 CST at the Loves in Kansas City, MO with fresh Loves coffee.

Yes, today we continue to follow the Missouri River that we had followed since yesterday along I-70 and now today on I-29 and eventually the Platte river along I-80 in Nebraska.
BRS shared a story as we exited Loves 8:00 CST about a dream of potato salad, and something to do with a blanket.
Around 8:24 CST, we were finally out of the Kansas City metro area after following I-435 around the outer loop up to I- 29 north.
As we approached Platte City, MO, we received a green bypass at a mass/weigh station scale which was closed.
At 10:05 CST, a welcome to Iowa sign greeted us near Hamburg.
A little while later, we exited off I-29 at Percival, IA where we met BRT RC member Tom at the stop sign of the exit. As we were about to turn west, Tom handed Steve a handshake and package.
A short while later, we cross over the Missouri River into Nebraska at 10:20 CST. Now our elevation would no longer remain constant as we were out of the river valley, it would gradually climb as we headed west through Nebraska towards the new Lincoln bypass.
Near Nebraska City, NE, we received a green light again to bypass as we approached the mass/weigh station. The location was interesting as it was in the median versus on the right side of the road like we normally encounter.
We exited in Syracuse, NE for a stop at the Loves. Yes, the plan was to get fuel for the truck, coffee for the driver and m&m’s for the road crew. 10:40 CST BRS unveils the bag that BRT RC Tom had provided banana nut muffins for Steve. Whoo woo! Thank you Tom for your thoughtfulness. In the excitement, BRS typed in to the log computer “muffins” instead of Fueling. Yes, down to 345 gallons to platinum. As we left, audio played High Point band from Paducah, KY song made special for BRT.
At 11:30 CST, we rolled onto the new bypass around Lincoln and Steve celebrating “oh, this is so cool, hallelujah!! No more 500 stoplights, how cool is this!”
Rolled on to I-80 westbound at 11:40 CST on west side of Lincoln. Yes, we will ride this the rest of today and again tomorrow until I-84 appears in Utah.
BRS, at 1306 CST, had a question on greeting cards and options that you would like to see available in the BRT store. John 259 was going to keep track of the suggestions and submit them to BRS.
13:34 CST, Steve advised to get ready to take your snow man screenshots of the Kearney Archway which we rolled under. Steve advised that we need to stop there sometime. (Yes, Rac and I had done just that a few years ago and enjoyed the history tour through the Archway. On the second floor of the Archway, they have a speed radar that takes eastbound speed of the traffic out the small windows up top over the interstate).
Just prior to North Platte, we rolled by the mass/weigh station as it was closed.
15:10 arrived at North Platte Flying hook safely parked with a fuel Island view and clock stopped at 15:14 CST due to parking up the road which would most likely be full due to road closures in Rawlings, WY. We are making best decisions to work our hours to the fullest while we stay out of that mess. BRS motto is always safety first.
Watch party started while Steve continued to educate the road crew on benefits of his motto. Also full circle ⭕️ Steve returned to the subject of potato salad from story that started the day.
Numbers for today 786 miles 1,264 km to delivery. Clocks: 3:54 hours on the 11 hour, 5:52 hours on the 14 hour, 18:20 hours on the 70 hour. 424 miles 682 km covered today as we rolled out of Missouri up into Iowa and west across Nebraska.
