BRS started the day 5:00 CST at Pontoon Beach, IL and rolled out at 6:00 CST for the short trip across the mighty Mississippi River into greater St Louis, MO to receiver in Kinloch, MO for live delivery.
At 10:01 CST, we left the receiver headed to the next shipper. As we left, BRS drove us right by the end of a runway of St.Louis Lambert field airport. We rolled east on I-70, Steve pointed out the St Louis Arch just before we crossed back over Mississippi River again back into Illinois again.
We arrived at the drop yard in East St Louis, IL. Steve brought the Road Crew with to watch the drop of current trailer and hook up of the next preloaded trailer. Yes, the trailer was preloaded in the state of Virginia. Hmm wonder if it would have originated in Stewarts Draft? Trailer was in good shape, no issues.
We rolled out across to the Pilot truck stop next door to get a Cat scale. Yes, we were legal and good to go. Steve grabbed fresh coffee ☕️ and as we rolled out he said going back as tire was falling off the trailer. This put concerns into the BRT RC chat, but Steve was just kidding.
Rolling again at 11:02 CST Steve advised 1,327 miles to go to delivery at Ogden, UT, a trip that will not require alarm clocks and drop at delivery, as the Arch made another appearance as we headed westward.
Back across Mississippi River again for then3rd time today, into Missouri & goodbye Illinois until we return again.
Today’s title comes in to view shortly after we rolled through St Louis at 11:13. BRS yelled out and had to dodge a large easy chair in the traffic lane we were in on I-70, “that is why you always are watching the road “ Steve advised.
BRT RC chat thought that chair would be nice for Greg Treadway or Lizoid to have in the ditch to sit and wave at BRS. Yes, agree that would be better than in the middle of I-70 in St Louis.
Wentzville, MO, the Prepass did not give a sound or light and open sign was on, so in we went for a drive through the faster lane and right back out again. No issues.

While on Kansas City loop I-435 at 15:29 the Blue Comet reached 95,000 miles 152,887 km
Numbers for today 1,078 miles 1,734 km to drop at delivery either Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Guessing that we covered approximately 300 miles 482 km including driving to delivery, and back to drop lot today.
Clocks: 5:06 on the 11 hour, 6:31 on the 14 hour, 26:21 on the 70 hour. So, no urgent need to push hard today as we have two more days to complete this trip while we conserve hours. Eight day running total 1,764 miles 2,838 km .
BRS was being asked by RC chat what stopping point tomorrow would be. Steve projected possibly getting to state line of Wyoming tomorrow which would be 600 miles 965 km mark. As BRS always says, we will deal with tomorrow, tomorrow.
