Good Friday morning! Well we sat on the shippers property until they put us in a door about 6pm and we were released about 8pm. The first delivery we had was supposed to be delivered by 230am this morning but it was very tight timewise. The biggest problem then became we had to do an 8/2 split sleeper because we had our delivery from the previous trip! We gave it our all legally, stopped for two hours that we owed but then we overslept by another two hours!! So, what does all this mean exactly? It means I went ahead and tried to check in and make the delivery late since sometimes they will take you late. Not this place…so, now the first delivery has to be rescheduled. Want the bad news? They do not start receiving until 11pm Sunday night!!! So, at the very least, every delivery city on this trip must be rescheduled and delayed three days. Wow, this just didn’t turn out well at all. Wait, I take that back. It turned out good because I stayed legal and didn’t fall asleep behind the wheel! My hours are all Topsy turvy now that’s for sure. We headed to the closest truckstop to wait until customer service,dispatch bosses, and planners come in with their Friday coffee. Several possibilities exist at this point. We could be told to drop at a terminal and take a different trip, we could swap and repower another load, or we might end up sitting right here and all deliveries be rescheduled. As soon as the bosses tell me what they want me to do, I’ll post an update…. Ooooooooo, we in trouble!
