Well, it looks like we completely vanished from the broadcast. We were doing just fine and when we pulled into the Love’s truckstop for fuel, the stream stopped. We got fuel and tried restarting the broadcast but we just couldn’t connect. Figuring it was a bad area, we tried several more times about every 20 miles or so. I also kept dropping phone calls and getting error recordings from Verizon. We have stopped for the night just outside of Nashville, Tennessee and hopefully things will reset and we can begin broadcasting in the morning. We drove through alot of heavy rain and poor visibility so maybe that had something to do with it.

Numbers for today, we covered 231 miles, got loaded (after they took forever), and have 12 hours left on our 70 and gain back 9.5 tonight. Since we left the shipper, we are currently running 10.8 mpg

Next trip – Sorta Maybe?

Howdy! We finally got rid of that load this morning. We do have our next trip posted but we never got any solid loading appointment. We showed up anyway hoping to talk them into telling us what is going on. I did find out it will be only two pallets, but that the product isn’t at their warehouse yet. Well, we decided to go ahead and head to the truckstop on the westside of Atlanta. Once we got here, we learned we now have a solid loading appointment for tomorrow morning. Good deal, should be a quick loading process, I mean, two pallets, what could possibly go wrong? …

Just 227 more miles to go before we can get rid of this long run. The real delivery information is still elusive to us and I’m not sure why, but oh well. Everyday we have hit our 70 hour maximum so that’s all we can do. See ya in the morning!

Soggy fields of Washington

Morning from the top of the hills in Prosser, Washington! After a crazy day yesterday, we are now sitting at the shipper waiting for them to open up so we can get loaded and start the trip to Alabama. Because we are going to be hitting our 70 hour clock every day, we may end up giving this load to another driver somewhere along the way. I’d like to make it all the way of course, but tight schedules and low driving hours dictate what actually happens. It sure was a beautiful drive through this whole area of Oregon and Washington yesterday and even though we had no signal once we left Biggs Junction right on the Columbia River, we did record all the way to Toppenish and will have those videos uploaded soon. Btw, I did record a short video of a very long windmill blade turning through an intersection in Biggs Junction if interested…

Horrible schedule

Howdy! We made our delivery early this morning and came right back to the same truckstop today. I did turn down two very horrible trips today but we will go ahead and do this trip tonight. Yes, it’s an overnight run with a 6am delivery Friday morning, but freight is very slim around here now. We do also have a backup trip after our overnight run and it actually has some good timing on it so we won’t have to fight the 70 hour clock this time. Ready for the Overnight Express ? Truck departs at 2030 Pacific time sharp!

Idaho to California

Good evening to everybody from Bishop, California at the junction of US Highway 395 and US 6. I know it has been tough for you guys with the buffering and long periods of no signal to broadcast. I did record what I could fit on my phone though. The ride the last 30 minutes of Nevada and into California have been fantastic ending our day at the peak of the orange sun casts coloring the fields and mountains. Tonight we sleep on the side of the road sandwiched between the Sierra National Forest and Death Valley. We got 568 miles accomplished today and used all but 34 minutes on our 11 hour clock for today. This is why I went trucking – to drive through areas where there is no internet, no cell phone service, no cities, just a few very scattered old barns and homesites on dirt roads. We will start broadcasting from here in the morning and hopefully it will last awhile since the map shows more towns closer together as we approach the delivery.

Happy Mother’s Day

Good afternoon from Washington! We have been so very busy building the new BigRigTravels Store from scratch and the last 24 hours I’ve made some great progress! 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there, especially mine. My mom always selects the Sunday Videos and this week our own YouTube Channel Chat moderator Mike1 picked one out as well so today you get a double bonus!

Friday and 34 Restart

Happy Friday ya’ll! Just a quick update, first, we are currently broadcasting live and watching the truckstop action with a perfect view of the fuel islands at the Love’s truckstop in Prosser, Washington.

We were bobtail this morning because the delivery didn’t have any empties available for us but we have since gone and picked one up for us to use on the next trip. Because we only have 3 hours today and gain just five back tomorrow, we will take a 34 hour restart. Enough of this fighting the clocks!

The next trip is now posted but picks up Monday morning. It takes us through the backroads using US95 through Nevada and California. We have taken US 395 just once since we started back in 2006, so this will be a very special treat for me! The drawback is the more remote it is, the less ability to actually broadcast, but as usual, the snowman camera can still send a few pictures to feed your eyes and the GPS showing location as we roll….
